Senior Scrum Master

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the Scrum process:
    - Guide the development team on how to use agile/Scrum practices and values.
    - Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
    - Foster an environment conducive to collaboration, creativity, and self-organization.
  • Coach and mentor the team:
    - Assist the team in adopting and applying agile methodologies effectively.
    - Provide guidance on Agile best practices and ensure adherence to Scrum principles.
    - Help the team identify and address any impediments or bottlenecks.
  • Promote continuous improvement:
    - Encourage the team to improve processes, increase productivity, and deliver high-quality products.
    - Identify and implement opportunities for continuous learning and growth.
    - Actively contribute to the Agile community by sharing knowledge and experiences.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration:
    - Collaborate closely with Product Owners to ensure product backlog items are clear, prioritized, and actionable.
    - Foster effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.
    - Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution within the team.
  • Monitor and report on team progress:
    - Track and communicate team progress using appropriate metrics and tools.
    - Identify and address any deviations or risks that may impact the team's ability to deliver.

Experience & Skills Fitment:

  • Familiar with tools for agile team management: e.g., JIRA, Confluence
  • Knowledge and experience in agile principles and frameworks: e.g., Scrum, SAFe Minimum 5 years
  • Goods skills of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
  • Understand and promote agile values: FROCC (Focus, Respect, Openness, Commitment, and Courage)
  • Scrum Master certified and experienced.
  • A great team player who is comfortable helping point out impediments.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Experience with distributed, multi-locations teams.
  • Able to inspire and motivate people and multi-disciplinary, self-organised teams.
  • Experience or technical knowledge in financial environments is a plus.
